"Dear fellow comrades, we are here today because we no longer want to stand by in silence and watch as our country is made mentally and materially fit for war. Because we see through the flimsy war propaganda we are confronted with every day."

Lüders criticised the logic of the alleged Russian threat:

"NATO is – even without counting the USA – already vastly superior in conventional armaments. According to this logic, Russia is supposed to be so weak that Ukraine can win the war of attrition – and at the same time so strong that it wants to attack NATO. This logic is completely absurd."

He warned against the suppression of dissenting opinions and cited the case of Berlin journalist Hüseyin Dogru as an example of "processes like those in a dictatorship".

At the end, he invited attendees to the parliamentary group's peace policy reception on 18 April in Eggersdorf with publicist Gabriele Krone-Schmalz.
